Kokopei Launches Animarte

November 15, 2024

Animarte is a special project created by Kokopei for children with intellectual disabilities, aged 8 to 15. We launched the first version in 2024, and through this space, children can express themselves and discover their potential through animation. In an inclusive and supportive environment, each child has the opportunity to create their own animated stories, allowing them to connect with their creativity in a unique way.

In addition to learning animation techniques, the project also strengthens their self-esteem, develops cognitive skills, and teaches them the value of perseverance and teamwork. Through each drawing, animation, and story, children are able to visualize their dreams and understand that there are no limits to what they can achieve.

Animarte is designed to adapt to the individual needs of each child, providing accessible tools and an environment where their talents and abilities are valued. It also fosters collaboration, respect, and mutual understanding among the children, creating a supportive community where everyone feels included and heard.

This project has a profound impact, not only on the children who participate, but also on their families and society in general. By offering a space for creativity and self-expression, Kokopei demonstrates something important: children with intellectual disabilities have much to contribute. Their vision and dreams deserve to be seen and valued.

That’s why Animarte is more than just an animation workshop. It’s a space where children can be themselves, grow with confidence, and express themselves through art. Here, they learn that they can communicate everything they feel and think.

Currently, the project is supported by volunteers from the Bolivianisches Kinderhilfswerk (Bolivian Children’s Aid Foundation), a nonprofit organization based in Stuttgart, Germany, that supports disadvantaged children and youth in Bolivia.

At Kokopei, we firmly believe that all dreams are possible. As Walt Disney said, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
